When I import a pdf figure (a chart) into a document by inserting a figure panel -> right click -> choose file to import, the figure shows up fine in the document. However, when I export it to LaTeX, a non-vector png file is produced in the export folder and looks low-quality in the resulting compiled document. If I export the document directly to a pdf, the figure is a poor, low-resolution, jaggy reproduction of the original, which is completely unsuitable for a high-quality document.
According to the help document:
"Manuscripts always deals with image data in a non-destructive way. For instance figure panel images all internally still store the original full sized image even if any panel members need to be scaled. Similarly, Manuscripts keep vector formatted graphics in their original form and only rasterises them to bitmap images on export if required"
The "...if required" part is confusing to me. Are there any circumstances where rasterization is not required during export? Is there any way to have Manuscripts use and export the original pdf figure?
