    Hi alenguav,
Manuscripts is supposed to work with multiple reference managers, so in theory it shouldn't matter much. However, papers is not developed anymore (it was bought by readcube and a combined Readcube/Papers version is supposed to be released sometime soon, so I wouldn't recommend to start using it now). I would also really recommend to read the other threads on this forum to be aware of the potential caveats of using Manuscripts at all at this point. Hope this helps!

I would advise to download the demo and do a quick test run to see whether the version as is suffices for what you need to do. My opinion after following the program for way too long is that I wouldn't recommend it to use at this stage. There is only one developer who will occasionally drop in here to say that everything is still running smoothly but while quite a few bugs from the (very very buggy) initial version have been ironed out it is totally unclear how it is going on from here; intentions to share a roadmap or to advise customers more closely on the forum were never fulfilled. Right now, for me it is still not possible to finish an entire paper within manuscripts, which makes me have to export it to word where I have to manually re-enter all citations, re-format a lot etc. A collaboration function was announced in the newsletter a couple of months ago for "the following week" but has not surfaced so far without any updates as to what happened. So bottom line: I wouldn't go for it at this stage but (at the current speed of development) check back in maybe a year whether it is still active at all.

The most likely answer from Manuscriptsapp would be that this feature is not easily implementable for Word but that a web-based collaborative function should become available "soon" (it was announced for 'next week' probably around 2 months ago).

unfortunately there is currently no way to achieve this. I agree, this would be very desirable to have..

    Hi mz2,

it'd be terrific if you could communicate a little better what is going on with Manuscripts at the moment. I've followed the development since the initial launch and I'm trying to get used to repeated stretches of non-communication with users, but after announcing the arrival of collaboration features "next week" by the newsletter a while ago it would be great to know when this will materialize. Otherwise it's hard to put up with the quirks of the (very promising program) and make it the tool you rely on for an article. thanks! hubob

@keirwilliams absolutely, which is why a new version just to ensure compatibility with the OS would have been great

    Hi @mz2,
I think it would be terrific if in the future you could test Manuscripts with new beta versions of macOS which are available quite sometime before release to developers like you to prevent situations like this one.
Thanks for you efforts in quickly resolving this!

@mz2 has this update been released yet? Also collaboration was announced (in beta) for this ending week, right?

    Hi @Sean Wei,
as far as I can see this feature is currently not implemented.

    Thanks for your message, @underscore_!
Unfortunately this way the layout of the manuscript is very different from the direct pdf export (font type, extra title page, many sentences spilling into the margins, references not displayed correctly...), so I will wait for a new version of Manuscripts that will hopefully come soon. Thanks again!
